On many occasions it has been shown that the relationship between people and sharks can be quite conflictive. From the ferocity of their nature to the lack of attention from swimmers and surfers, the encounter of both species had negative consequences in a large number of cases.
Much of the population is usually very afraid just thinking that sharks live in the sea, part of their bad press is due to the film saga SharkSince its first appearance in 1975 the scenes became more and more bloody and terrifying.
The truth, and despite the fact that it does not sound pleasant at all, is that sharks respond to their nature and their instincts and there are few times that they aim to attack people. sharks do not have the ability to think whether or not they dislike humans. However people sometimes seem to get angry with them, a clear example is fishing or the extraction of their fins causing them to not be able to swim or to bleed to death.
From Stellenbosch University, Conrad Mattee notes that: “Sharks are not interested in humans as prey. Great white sharks smaller than three meters (which are between four and five years old) feed mainly de peces. They then change their teeth and obtain their characteristic large teeth that are adapted for their marine mammal prey. Their diet changes according to the season, de peces to mammals. "Humans don't look like marine mammals in the water, but sharks are curious by nature, leading to some negative encounters with humans from time to time."
