Tropical fish: neon

Of the many tropical fish that you can have in a warm water aquarium, perhaps one of the ones that can attract the most attention are neons.

Neons, at least those that are most found in pet stores, are usually blue or red, strong colors and in a neon tone (hence their name). They are fish that must be bought in quantity (about 8 minimum) because they always swim in groups. Nor does anything happen to buy only one, in fact, I can tell you that, if you buy only one and then a group, the first, because he was alone, does not get to join that group. If he swims near them sometimes but not everywhere, he is more independent.

Conclusion somewhat expensive, because the price, when buying several, can reach 10-12 euros (about 8-10 fish). They must always be the same color (in aquariums they are separated but, if you count, when you swim to the right, they all do it to the same side and vice versa.

Fish can grow quite large from the moment they are purchased but not very large in size. They are very resistant and easy to maintain; what's more, they get along well with other fish such as guppies although each one needs its own space.

As for food, the fish eat during the day, usually without rising to the surface but waiting for the food to come down to take it from the ground or at mid-altitude (unless they have spent many hours without eating).

Its half-life can be long as long as the best conditions are maintained in the aquarium, which is not difficult. It is even possible that, as they grow older, you realize that the garish color they are losing, it can also be due to the lack of some vitamin (try to give them a different diet).
