Platy fish

The platy fish, also known in the scientific world as Xiphophorus Maculatus, are originally from the Central American continent, exactly from countries like Guatemala, Honduras and Mexico. They can generally be found in cool waters with lots of vegetation and roots where they can take refuge and hide from predators.

This little fish are characterized by having an elongated shape and a rounded belly, the latter being much more pronounced in females than in males. Its mouth is placed in a superior position, due to the multiple crossings.
