Terrarium Types: Tropical Terrarium

When we have a pet, such as a turtle or a frog, it is important that we try to keep them in a terrarium, the closest thing to their natural habitat, so that they can develop and grow optimally and properly.

The different types of terrariums, are distinguished by their size, proportion, decoration and material that is used. It is important to note that it is not the pet owner who chooses this type of characteristics, but rather, depending on the pet we have, we have to adapt the terrarium to it. Remember that there are different types of terrariums, but they can all be classified into 3 different groups that define the type of environment that will be provided to the animal.

First of all, we have the tropical terrariums, which have the function of simulating the environment that occurs in the tropics, are characterized by having elements that pour water, such as waterfalls, or small pools, so that the animals can swim and cool off in them, at the same time that they produce enough humidity to emulate the tropical environment. Keep in mind that the assembly of this type of terrarium provides a bit of difficulty, since the decoration must remain firm and be suitable for it.

These types of terrariums are taller than they are wide, since they are usually used for harbor arboreal species, such as green iguanas. Usually, its structure also serves to receive logs that will serve to decorate the environment and also to support and help the animal climb and have more space within the same terrarium.

It is important that you bear in mind that the temperature and humidity inside our pet's terrarium must remain somewhat high, more or less between 25 and 30 degrees Celsius, so that our animal feels as if it were in its tropical natural habitat.
