The maximum weight reaches 120 kilos. They can live in areas where the temperature is around 21 to 30 degrees. It is normal to see it in the tropics and subtropics. From the docks they are usually seen on the surface, as if it were a sail, out of the water.

It is a carnivorous fish that eats from small fish to medium blue runners. Their way of life is not very well known.

One of its strangest features is its long and high dorsal fin, which is composed of 37 to 49 elements. Its second dorsal fin is much smaller. Its beak is longer than that of swordfish.

He has great fighting skills and the ability to perform great aerobatics. Those who want to catch them should use sport fishing methods such as trolling with bait strips, a whole mullet, plastic samples, feathers or spoons as well as live baits.

They can be seen in the Pacific (California and Mexico) and tropical Atlantic (east of India) oceans. Pacific sailfish can weigh more than 90 pounds and its size can reach three meters.

Sailfish are considered to be the most veiled of the marine fish, reaching a speed of 30 meters per second, which would mean about 109 kilometers per hour. This speed is achieved thanks to a very powerful caudal peduncle.
